About Class Angel

What is Class Angel?

Yearly 8-Session International Program!

Class Angel is a regular, year-round exchange program held eight times annually. In a fun classroom setting, children use English naturally while building intercultural understanding and language awareness. Through games, play, and interactive cultural experiences, they engage directly with international supporters and easily make new friends.

Class system for primary school students for one year (held approximately eight times a year) *5-year-olds who will start primary school next year can also participate.

●English as a universal language is used for communication during class time.
●Activities that promote teamwork.
●Children and foreigners meet regularly, making it easy to get to know each other and talk to each other in the same class.
*For children with a daily conversation level of English skills.

Class Angel Features.

Class Angel is attended by a unique supporter, allowing participants
to learn about many cultures throughout the year.
Each time, you can learn about the culture of a country!
Class Angel's main activity, "Intercultural Time", students learn and experience customs and cultures from all over the world. Children actively engage with different cultures by participating in hands-on activities such as cooking, touching, tasting, and expressing themselves through movement, rather than simply observing and acquiring knowledge. With a total of 48 opportunities over six years of continuous participation in primary school, students have the chance to immerse themselves in diverse cultures eight times a year.
Always available to talk to supporters
Each session includes 3–4 "angel supporters" from around the world, with roughly one supporter for every five children. This ensures a relaxed and supportive environment for conversation. Sessions are conducted in English, empowering confident speakers to express themselves freely, while less confident students are gently encouraged to build their skills one word at a time. Those still learning English are supported by a Japanese assistant for smooth communication.
Discussion time
Students are frequently given opportunities to discuss their ideas with peers, fostering meaningful group conversations. This practice not only helps them become comfortable speaking in English, but also teaches valuable skills in expressing themselves confidently and working collaboratively to form and organize their thoughts.
Field trips and special activities.
We organize excursions and special events with the aim of getting to know the class members better, including our foreign supporters. Children interested in English and different cultures are encouraged to interact with each other both in and out of class. Please note that expenses on the day are extra, and special activities may not be held depending on circumstances.
Participation with friends is possible.
If your friends are interested in exploring different cultures and improving their English, feel free to bring them along! You'll have the opportunity to get to know your classmates better and embark on a fascinating journey of cultural discovery from around the world together!
Overseas Mini Confectionery Gifts
After each class, we will hand out small international sweets as a token of participation. You will take home with you sweets from all over the world, which are different from the Japanese taste, and taste them at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q
Is it okay that I can't converse and lack confidence?
    A
The sessions will primarily be conducted in English, but even children who are not confident in English will be supported by a Japanese supporter assigned to each group. Additionally, many supporters are residents of Japan and have an understanding of Japan, and they all have a fondness for children. Non-native speakers make up about 70-80% of participants, and many have also faced challenges in speaking English in the past. Please do not worry and feel free to challenge yourself by connecting words to convey your thoughts.
  • Q
I purchased an annual/semi-annual season ticket, but there may be days when I cannot attend. Is it possible to reschedule?
    A
If you have purchased an annual or semi-annual season ticket, you can use it for 8 sessions (for annual) or 4 sessions (for semi-annual) until next December. Even if you take a break during the current season, you can also join the classes in the next academic year. Please contact us in that case.
  • Q
    Can I cancel after applying?
    A
We do not offer refunds for cancellations after applying for a season ticket. Additionally, for single tickets, as costs are incurred for class preparation based on the number of participants, cancellations on the day before or on the day of the class are not accepted. (Cancellations are possible with prior notice up to 2 days before).
  • Q
Can a 5-year-old child who will enter elementary school next year participate?
    A
Class Angel is designed for elementary school students, but children who will enter elementary school next year, even if they are 5 years old, are eligible to participate.
  • Q
Is it possible for a 12-year-old child who will enter junior high school next year to participate?
    A
If the child is in elementary school at the start of the season in September, they will still be eligible to participate after entering junior high school next April.
  • Q
If a child has a fever and cannot attend the class on the scheduled day, is it possible to reschedule?
    A
Cancellations on the day of the class are not accepted for any reason, as costs are incurred for preparation such as printing and snacks. However, in the event of class cancellation due to circumstances such as typhoons, heavy rain, or suspension of public transportation due to disasters, refunds will be provided.
  • Q
Is it possible to meet the supporter privately on the day of the event?
    A
The foreign supporters participating in Class Angel are not typically employed by the organization; they are volunteers who may or may not receive compensation. Therefore, while it is possible to negotiate private meetings between individuals, please understand that some supporters may not be interested in meeting privately, as they may work in fields unrelated to teaching or have other personal commitments.
  • Q
"Regarding food, my child has allergies. What should I do?
    A
If your child has allergies, please be sure to inform us in advance via email or notify our staff on the day of the event.

  • Q
I would like to participate in a single class. When should I make the purchase?
    A
The registration for single-class participation typically starts approximately 3 weeks before the class. Please check our SNS posts or website for the start of registration and make your purchase then. Additionally, if the slots for annual/semi-annual season members are filled, we will close the registration for single classes. In such cases, only the slots from cancellations will be available for purchase, which may be limited.

About us

Class Angel Program
About US: Kids International Village Japan.

Connect the children and foreigners - an international exchange & English conversation community!
In order to create more opportunities for Japanese children to interact with foreigners in English, we were established as a volunteer citizen group in 2017 and received approval as a non-profit NPO in May 2020.
Different from schools and regular English classes, we aim to provide a third space where all children can engage in international exchange and English conversation with multinational individuals at an affordable cost, similar to an allowance.
Currently, we organize outdoor international exchange and English conversation events called 'Kids Internationial Village' in parks nationwide, as well as online children's English conversation sessions called 'AaasoBo!', where children can interact with overseas instructors. We are dedicated to creating environments where children can easily meet and use English and other languages with foreigners, and we organize numerous multicultural events promoting coexistence through language.
